Pakistan allow full capacity for West Indies series

For the next West Indies series, the National Command and Control Center (NCOC) has permitted spectators to fill the National Stadium in Karachi to capacity.

The NCOC had previously set a capacity limit of 25% for the home series against New Zealand, which was cancelled after the visitors fled owing to security concerns. This is the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic that spectators will be allowed to this extent. The NCOC had previously set a capacity limit of 25% for the home series versus New Zealand, which was cancelled after the visitors fled owing to security concerns.

Meanwhile, the West Indies, who arrive in Karachi on December 9, will play six white-ball games, which will take place on December 13. The exact number of ODIs will follow the three T20Is from December 18 to 22, all of which will be part of the ICC ODI World Cup Super League, guaranteeing direct qualification for the top seven countries plus hosts (India) for the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Each team receives 10 points for a win, 5 for a tie/no result/abandoned, and zero for a loss. The ranking will be based on the total points collected by all teams throughout the series that each team will compete in. West Indies are now ranked ninth out of thirteen teams, with four victories and five losses. Pakistan is only a point ahead of them, with the same number of wins and defeats.
