Craps is a common dice game that can be seen in both professional and informal situations. Craps is a dice game in which players wager on the outcome of dice rolls. When playing Craps, money is risked either against the casino or against the other players' players. Street craps are when a player competes against other players outside of a casino atmosphere.

Craps history, like that of many other age-old casino games, is a jumble of hypotheses about where the game came from, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact origin of the game. Craps is a game that has evolved and incorporates elements of all of these widely-held notions. According to some interpretations, the game is based on the Old English game Hazard and the French game Craps. Around the 18th to 19th century, a Louisiana gambler and politician named Bernard Xavier Phillipe introduced the game to New Orleans.

However, there was a flaw with this version of the game in that it was readily manipulated, allowing players to cheat by using preset dice to alter the chances in their favour. In 1907, John H. Winn devised an upgraded version of the dice game that featured a "don't pass bet" section, making it more like modern-day Craps and removing the fixed dice issue.
